Refund Policy

Scope

This Refund Policy applies to professional services provided by Los Angeles Software Developers, including but not limited to SaaS development, custom software, web and mobile app development, design, cloud, AI, marketing and consulting engagements. Refund eligibility for any specific engagement is determined by the signed Service Agreement or Statement of Work and the stage of work completed.

Nature of Our Services

The services we provide are custom, time-based and labour-intensive. Once work has begun, time and resources are committed and generally cannot be recovered. For that reason, fees for completed work, work-in-progress and committed sprint capacity are not refundable.

Deposits & Pre-Payments

Project deposits secure capacity on our schedule and cover initial discovery, planning and onboarding. Deposits are non-refundable once we have started the discovery phase or scheduled engineering capacity.

Discovery / Consulting Engagements

Fees for discovery sprints, audits and consulting calls are billed for the time and deliverables agreed in advance and are non-refundable once the engagement has commenced.

Monthly Retainers

Retainer fees are billed in advance for an agreed monthly capacity. Unused capacity does not roll over and is not refundable. Either party may cancel an ongoing retainer with the notice period specified in the signed agreement; fees already invoiced for the current billing period remain payable.

Cancellations by the Client

If you cancel an engagement before completion, you remain responsible for all work performed up to the cancellation date and for any non-cancellable third-party costs (e.g., software licences, cloud reservations) incurred on your behalf.

Service Issues

If you are unhappy with any deliverable, please notify us in writing within fourteen (14) days of delivery. We will work in good faith to remedy reasonable issues that fall within the agreed scope at no additional cost. Refunds, where appropriate, are issued at our discretion and only in accordance with the signed Service Agreement.

Exclusions

Refunds will not be issued where:

  • Work has been completed and accepted (whether formally or by use).
  • Delays or changes are caused by the client (e.g., late feedback, scope changes, third-party blockers).
  • The dissatisfaction relates to subjective preferences outside the agreed scope.
  • Third-party fees (licences, cloud usage, ad spend, hosting) have already been incurred.

How to Request a Refund

To discuss a refund request, please email support@danereels.com with your project name, invoice number and the reason for the request. We aim to respond within five (5) business days.

No Guarantee

Nothing in this policy constitutes a promise or guarantee that any specific refund will be granted. Final eligibility is governed by the signed Service Agreement, applicable law and the specific circumstances of the engagement.
